I’ve heard it said before that sometimes you have to believe in someone else’s belief in you before you can find belief in yourself for yourself.

Since I was a kid, I’ve always had a hard time accepting what other people said to me or about me as truth. Especially when it was something good. Trusting has always been something I’ve had to work on. It’s still something I’m working on.

When you meet good people that speak life into you, you have to stay around those people. That does not mean to only go to them when you need to be uplifted. It’s a two-way street. Both speaking life into each other. But those are not people you can afford to lose. Especially if you drift apart because of your insanity.

I need to be around someone that I can be fully open with and talk to about the things I’m struggling with. I need to receive the life-giving words that person or persons speak to me.

A friend said something to me yesterday and it hit me. I thought to myself, “You can only hear the same thing from so many different sources until eventually you believe it.” The specifics of that conversation aren’t important. What’s important is the fact that she was speaking the same life-giving words I’d heard before but didn’t accept until that conversation.

It shouldn’t have taken me that long to let someone speak love into me, but it did. I’m just thankful I finally accepted it.

Crazy as you may think it to be, the life someone is speaking into you is truth. There are people that do in fact, with a pure spirit of that which is genuine, have deep and beautiful, true belief in you.

Let them believe in you, so eventually you can believe in you too.
